The majority of the ten papers making up this volume emanate from a conference held at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, in 2015 to commemorate the epoch-making text-critical monograph of Dominique Barthélemy entitled Les devanciers d'Aquila: Première publication intégrale du texte des fragments du Dodécaprophéton (VTSup 10; Leiden: Brill, 1963) more than half a century after its publication and to review the course of the discussion on topics raised by Barthélemy's work in the intervening years. The editors provide an orientation to the collection that includes summaries of the component papers.
