Abstract
Summary The fertility results from 860 control and 1233 treated mixedaged ewes implanted with I-thyroxine are presented. On a lambs produced/ewes mated basis, the total figures covering the three breeding seasons 1955-57 inclusive, show an increase of 9.5(10 in favour of the treated ewes. The fertility responses appear to be very sensitive to the rate of absorption of thyroxine. The effects of different thyroxine dose levels and two-tooth versus mature ewe responses, are discussed in relation to the fertility of the animals concerned.
