Abstract
The image depicts an array of free-standing ferroelectric perovskite PbZrTiO nanotube islands, processed with soft-template infiltration using a solution precursor. Such high aspect ratio nanotube/pillar arrays, described on page 1160 by N. Bassiri-Gharb and co-workers, find diverse application in actively tunable photonic and phononic crystals, terahertz emitters, energy harvesters, and nanoelectromechanical sensors, actuators, and transducers.
