Abstract

With the rapid development of wind power generation worldwide, the wind power consumption problems have become increasingly prominent, which seriously restricts the further development of wind power. Energy-intensive loads have capabilities for power adjustment, which can be employed as demand-side response resources to participate in power system peak regulation and improve the level of wind power consumption. This paper takes ferroalloy submerged arc furnaces as an example and proposes control strategies for ferroalloy submerged arc furnaces for wind power consumption. Case studies and simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategies, which provides a new method for large-scale wind power consumption.
