Abstract
Recent results on the electron momentum density of simple metals are reviewed to illustrate how Compton scattering is unique and indispensable as a tool to study Fermiology of various materials. Reconstruction of the two- and the three-dimensional momentum density and occupation number density is also reviewed with presenting examples of Li, Li-Mg alloys and Cr.
