Abstract

Recently, the exploration of MXene-based catalysts has become a hot topic in the electrocatalytic field. Herein, an electrocatalyst of decorating FePc on MXene (called FePc/MXene) was prepared and applied to CO2 reduction reactions (CO2RR) in a flow cell. The results show that CO is the main product of CO2RR on the as-prepared FePc/MXene electrocatalyst, and H2 is the only by-product (small part). Notably, the optimal of FePc/MXene (1:3) (mass ratio) has a high selectivity for CO with a CO Faraday efficiency (FECO) of 98.23%. After 24 h of continuous electrolysis, the FECO remained at a high level of 96.31%. This study would provide a promising catalyst for CO2RR, giving a good reference to developing the MXene-based electrocatalyst.
