Abstract

Bu araştırmada, fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının mesleki benlik saygıları ile yaşam doyumlarının çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmesi ve aralarındaki ilişki düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma verileri, Ordu Üniversitesi Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Bölümünde öğrenim gören 66 öğretmen adayından elde edilmiştir. İlişkisel tarama yönteminin kullanıldığı araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak; “Mesleki Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği”, “Yaşam Doyum Ölçeği” ile araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının “Mesleki Benlik Saygısı” ile “Yaşam Doyumu” değişkenleri arasındaki ilişki düzeyi, basit doğrusal regresyon analizi ve pearson korelasyon analiziyle incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde mesleki benlik saygısı ile yaşam doyumu arasında pozitif yönde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur.

Introduction

Professional self-esteem; is the valuableness belief that the person has created about the chosen profession of one. On the basis of his individual characteristics, one should evaluate to what extent his profession will be suitable for him. In the universities, where the first step is taken into the profession, life satisfaction emerges to the extent that it meets the needs of the students (Borden, 1995). Life satisfaction is a subjective evaluation relevant to their education that their experiences and their obtained results. This assessment continues to be shaped by the repeated experience of students throughout their university life (Elliott & Shin, 2002). Teacher candidates' preference of teaching profession considering their individual characteristics and, in the same time their positive attitudes and opinions towards their professions have a significant effect on their life satisfaction levels
