Abstract

It is shown that the attraction of femtosecond solitons in fibres is possible. Soliton attraction is calculated numerically, taking into account the fifth-order non-linearity in the refractive index of the fibre for the varying initial conditions. The role of the non-linear and dispersion higher-order effects and self-frequency shift in soliton attraction is also considered.
