Abstract

A non-data-aided synchronisation technique is proposed for M-ary continuous phase frequency shift keying signals, which has a feedforward structure and is suitable for burst-mode transmissions. The proposed scheme is to estimate the carrier frequency offset, carrier phase and symbol timing, whose performances are investigated by simulations and compared with the modified Cramer–Rao bounds. It turns out that the estimation accuracies of the frequency offset and timing offset are close to the theoretical limits in high signal-to-noise ratio.
