Abstract
Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for a nonlinear heat exchanger model to be feedback linearisable. The conditions are provided in terms of parameters directly related to heat transfer parameters. As part of the result, certain useful properties on the independence of distributions with respect to input are also derived. An example is provided to illustrate the theory.
