Abstract
Abstract FEDERATED F460 is a heat treatable, aluminum-base, sand and permanent mold casting alloy having good foundry characteristics and pressure tightness. It is recommended for general purpose castings in either the as-cast or heat treated condition. The F460PT grade is specially processed during manufacture to reduce the apparent solidification shrinkage with no change in chemical specification or mechanical properties. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive and shear strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue.
