Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of febuxostat combined with loxoprofen sodium tablets in the treatment of patients with gout and hyperuricemia. Methods Seventy-two patients with gout and hyperuricemia who were hospitalized in Xishan Coal and Electricity (Group) Co., Ltd. Staff General Hospital from January 2014 to January 2018 were selected and randomly divided into observation group (n=36) and control group (n=36). Patients in control group were treated with febuxostat, while patients in observation group were treated with febuxostat plus loxoprofen sodium tablets. All patients of the two groups were treated for 12 weeks. During the treatment period, high purine diet was strictly prohibited and the daily drinking water volume was more than 2 000 ml. The clinical efficacy, pain score, serum uric acid level and quality of life score of the two groups were compared. The incidences of adverse reactions in the two groups were recorded and compared. Results The effective rate of observation group was 77.78% (28/36), which was higher than that of control group (55.56%, 20/36), P 0.05); after treatment, serum uric acid level and pain score in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group (P 0.05); after treatment, the scores of quality of life in observation group were higher than those in control group (P 0.05). Conclusions The efficiency of combination of febuxostat and loxoprofen sodium tablets in the treatment of patients with gout and hyperuricemia is significant. It can effectively relieve pain, reduce serum uric acid level, and improve the quality of life of patients, with safety. Key words: Gout with hyperuricemia; Febuxostat; Loxoprofen sodium tablets; Serum uric acid; Quality of life
