Abstract

The article offers a research devoted to studying the features of patriotic self-awareness of young people. The aim of the article is diagnosis and analysis of the qualitative and quantitative features of the patriotic self-awareness of the modern Russian youth living in Irkutsk. The sampling frame of the study is 100 people who are specified into two groups on the basis of the age features: the first group involves the people at the age from 10 to 28 years old, the second group consists of the participants at the age from 45 to 55 years old. In terms of gender-based characteristics, the study involves 45 men and 55 women. The study is carried out on the basis of the following psycho-diagnostic methods: the questionary «I feel» (based on the S. V. Levchenkos questionary; the scale of assessing oneself as a patriot from the poll «Patriot»; «My visions of Patriotism»; «Who am I?» methodology of M. Kun, T. Mc-Partland: content-analysis of the test persons attitude to the historical cases of patriotism manifestations. The study results in obtaining and analyzing the patriotic qualities and values of the test persons in terms of the psycho-diagnostic tools used.
