Abstract

Abstract The capture of CO 2 on the novel CaO on γ-Al 2 O 3 sorbent was demonstrated experimen tally in the temperature regime of the steam meth ane reforming process. Thermogravimetric analysis illustrated that both capture and regeneration of CO 2 can take place at 650 ∘ C; however, the kinetics of the two processes are observed to be very dissimilar. The sorbent was successfully wash-coated on a ceramic monolith and a flow-through reactor test of the monolith illustrated the feasibility of CO 2 capture from a simulated gas stream.
