Abstract

This study aims at the exploration of what causes fear of punishment and feelings of guilt in preschool children in two Arab countries: Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Using the framework of a clinical case study, data were collected depending mainly on the CAT projective test. Content analysis of children's CAT stories revealed both unique and common elements regarding fear of punishment and feelings of guilt in the two samples. Results were discussed in the light of cultural background differences and common aspects.
