Abstract
This paper investigates the fault estimation problem for a class of Switched Linear System. Based on coordinate transformations that decouple a subset of the system states from the faults, an unknown input switched observer is developed to estimate both of the faults and the states of the system. Then, based on the use of Switched Lyapunov functions, Linear Matrix Inequality conditions allowing the design of the observer are provided. Finally, an example is given to illustrate that the developed technique is suitable for the estimation of time-varying faults.
