Abstract

Two fault diagnostic schemes based on Fuzzy Cognitive Map (FCM) are proposed. One is a basic diagnostic algorithm and the other is an incipient fault diagnostic algorithm by using pattern match based on FCM's special property, i.e., Temporal Associative Memory (TAM) recall. The basic diagnostic algorithm can be considered as a transition of signed-directed graph to FCM framework. Important idea behind the incipient fault diagnosis consists in fault FCM model and its TAM recall. Furthermore, an enhanced diagnostic algorithm based on Fuzzy Time Cognitive Map (FTCM) is proposed. Using the FTCM instead of FCM, problems concerned with propagation delay in generic FCM can be easily overcome.
