Abstract
This paper studies the fault detection problem of linear discrete-time periodic systems. At first, an optimal residual generator is derived for such systems without model uncertainty, which achieves the best compromise between sensitivity to faults and robustness to unknown disturbances. Then the influence of model uncertainty is considered and the residual generator tries to preserve the best compromise character in the presence of model uncertainty.
