Abstract
The frequency factor, in the expression for the thermal desorption rate, is shown to vary drastically in the presence of adatom-adatom interaction, if the strength of the interaction is larger than the thermal energy. Quadratic and hexagonal lattices are studied and a comparison with recent experiments on CO/Ru (001) is made.
