Abstract

ABSTRACT Farming systems and management practices impact soil chemical, physical and biological properties. Consequently, changes on soil properties are expected to affect nutritional quality of crops. Increasing demand for healthy and nutritious food and call for environmentally sound and sustainable agricultural practices have drawn attention of many policy makers, environmentalists, researchers, growers, and other stakeholders in the past decades. Therefore, a clear understanding of the relationships between farming systems and nutritional quality of crops is very important in designing agricultural management strategies which will enhance environmental quality and sustainability while improving the nutritional quality of crops.
