Abstract

In the context of a complex geopolitical situation, recently there has been an intensification of Russophobic agitation, including the use of cyberspace through falsification or false interpretation of historical events by belittling the role of Russia in world history or its representation from the negative side. This technique is not new and has been used for a long time to form in society sympathy or antipathy to different persons, countries or phenomena. The methods of falsification are different: from a false interpretation of historically significant events to pulling historical facts out of context and building a logical (virtually non-existent) chain between them. The purpose of such actions is the desire to destabilize the situation in the state by promoting extremist and separatist ideas, which is a clear threat to the national security and territorial integrity of the Russian Federation and requires the urgent adoption of effective countermeasures.
