Abstract

Teenagers and school-age children are the most victims of violence in Bukitinggi City. Various factors can contribute to the high incidence of sexual violence among adolescents. This study aims to identify the factors associated with sexual violence against young women in Bukittinggi City. This research is a descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was female adolescents aged 13-15 in Bukittinggi with a sample of 100 female students selected by simple random sampling. Data collection using a questionnaire. Bivariate data analysis with chi-square. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between age (p-value <0.001), living together (p-value 0.038), and attitude (p-value 0.002) on the level of sexual violence, there was a relationship between knowledge of attitudes related to prevention of sexual violence (p-value 0.022),and there is a relationship between living together on the respondent's level of knowledge (p-value 0.017). Education to adolescents about sexuality needs to be carried out regularly to increase knowledge and attitudes about sexual harassment as an effort to prevent sexual violence againstadolescents.
