Abstract

Parental custody patterns are one of several factors that can influence online gambling addiction, but sometimes the custodial pattern applied is not fully implemented to the child so it affects the lack of behavior that parents teach to prevent online gaming addiction. This study aims to find out the relationship between the patterns of parental care and online gambling addiction in school-age children in SDN 005 Sungai Kunjang Samarinda. The study used a descriptive correlation with a population of 121 respondents and a sampling technique using Stratified Random Sampling with a sample of 93 respondents. Data collection using questionnaire sheets. The univariate analysis in this study uses frequency distribution and bi-variate analysis using the Fisher exact test. The result of this study is obtained p-value 0,000 < 0.05 so that H0 is rejected so there is a significant relationship (meaning) between patterns of parental care with online gambling addiction in school-age children in SDN 005 Sungai Kunjang Samarinda. We need a balanced care pattern to limit children's playing hours to prevent online gambling addiction.
