Abstract

Nurses as professions that focus on individual and community care must provide comprehensive and quality services. This condition can increase nurse stressors that cause mental problem. One of the mental problems among nursing staff in hospital is anxiety. Anxiety can be treated with lavender aromatherapy. This study used quasy experiment design with one group pretest-posttest approach. Respondents' criteria were nurse in ICU and ICCU, worked at least 2 years, anxiety scores ≥8 and were approved to become respondents. 14 respondents were selected in this research. The results showed there were changes in anxiety before, after and 1 week after the intervention of aromatherapy with p-value = 0.000. Lavender oil inhalation effectively reduced nurse' anxiety. Lavender oil inhalation was used for nursing staff in hospital to reduce anxiety
