Abstract

This paper is a research on the contributing factors to the use of technology in the small and medium enterprises (SME) sector. The objective of the study is to explore the factors that contribute to the use of technology. This research was conducted using qualitative methods involving entrepreneurs in the Dungun and Kemaman districts of Terengganu, under the Terengganu State Development Project, with 7 (seven) respondents. The findings from this study indicate that there are two main factors contributing to the use of technology: internal factors such as costs, labour or workers, time factors, and technology factors, which include adaptability, quality, goals, and functionality of the technology itself; and external factors, such as assistance from the government or government agencies and support from third parties. This study has successfully achieved its objectives.
