Abstract

In the light of the House of Lords decisions in Van Colle and Smith this commentary considers whether victims can truly be said to have ‘rights’ without effective remedies for police inaction. It also considers the implications for ineffective police responses to domestic violence, especially cases culminating in domestic homicide.
