Abstract
At present, there is no strict, systematic, and comprehensive list of determinants on youth migration behavior, despite the relevance of this topic for Russian regions in connection with the significant migration flows of young people in the country. The article presents the authors’ view of migration behavior as a function with determinants. The determinants were identified using various migration theories and were confirmed by the results of relevant studies by Russian and foreign scientists. This made it possible to identify the main trends and features of youth migration behavior in modern conditions. Data on the migration of young people in the Siberian Federal District, in particular, in Altai krai, are analyzed. Possible consequences of significant migration flows of young people directed to neighboring regions have been identified. The analysis is based on Rosstat data and research materials of foreign and Russian scientists in the field of population migration.
