Abstract

Due to the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, numerous sectors of the world economy were practically paralyzed, and tourism activity can be highlighted as one of the main ones. Given that, tourist attractions, equipment, services, and tourist infrastructure sought ways to overcome this moment of crisis. However, only a few were successful. Tourism organizations linked to digital environments, which sought to innovate in the market, faced greater challenges and effectively dealt with the uncertainty environment created by Covid-19, were the ones that stood out the most. These companies that survive during a risky scenario, which have a technological base and a scalable, sustainable, and repeatable business model, are currently called Startups. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and identify the main critical factors for the success of tourism startups during the pandemic, using real examples of organizations that were successful in this period as the main basis for extracting information.
