Abstract

There is an increasing emphasis on measuring treatment outcomes in Australian public mental health services [1]. Several standardised outcome measures have been suggested for application in mental health settings [2]. However, the diverse range of treatment services (eg crisis assessment teams, assertive care teams, case management services, inpatient services) and local variations means that individual service components may have distinct functional objectives that require specific assessment and outcome measurements.
