Abstract

The conversion of land from rubber to oil palm by farmers is carried out to obtain greater income. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the conversion of rubber land to oil palm in Benteng Hulu Village, Mempura District, Siak Regency. The method used was simple random sampling with a sample of 60 farmers, namely 30 people who did the conversion and 30 people who did not change the function of the rubber land oil palm. The analysis used is descriptive analysis and logistic regression. The result of the study show that the age of farmers who are still in the productive category, the largest area of land owned by farmers is 0.1-3.5 ha, the level of educarion possessed is at the high school/equivalent level, the majority of farming experience is over 10 years, the number of dependents owned by farmers is at most 0-2 people. The results of the model feasibility test have been carried out which did not obtain diffrences between the two estimated logistic regression models with observational data, so that the model is feasible and appropriate to use. With a meaningful model that together gives a real influence on the model. The R square value shows 51.2 percen probability that the dependent variable is influenced by the independent variable. The wald thest shows that the variables of rubber prodyctivity and oil palm farming income partially have a significant effect on land conversion.
