Abstract

In this work, ZIF-8@poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) composite was synthesized by facile ultrasonic mixing method and utilized as electrode material for sensitive electrochemical determination of dichlorophenol (Dcp). Data from scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) demonstrate that PEDOT:PSS wrapped ZIF-8 was successfully synthesized. The encapsulated structure endows the composite excellent electrical conductivity, good stability, and high electrocatalytic activity. Thanks to the effect of synergistic enhancement between material components, the ZIF-8@PEDOT:PSS electrode exhibits an excellent electrocatalytic behavior for Dcp determination with low limit of detection (LOD, 0.01 μM), wide linear range response (0.03 μM~10.0 μM). Furthermore, the proposed sensor displays high selectivity, stability, repeatability and reproducibility, and shows a good recovery to Dcp detection in lake water sample.
