Abstract
The infection caused by microorganisms and the consequence of antibiotic resistance has become one of the most important public health issues worldwide, therefore examining for novel and biocompatible antimicrobial agents is needed. Herein, PAN nanofibers were synthesized by electrospinning technique and FeNPs decorated by reduction of FeCl3. Furthermore, Oxidase and Peroxidase mimic activity have been accessed by using PAN/FeNPs nanocomposite. The effect of fabricated PAN/FeNPs was observed against E. coli and S. aureus. The structure and composition of PAN/FeNPs nanofibers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), High resolution transmission electron microscope (HR-TEM) and EDS Mapping, EPR and ICP. It was shown that PAN/FeNPs have enzyme mimic, antimicrobial activity, and wound healing potential.
