Abstract

In this paper, honeycomb ordered polycarbonate films were fabricated using water droplets as templates. The influencing factors including humidity, concentration, temperature and the solvent properties are investigated. The results show that the polycarbonate films with highly ordered structures can be obtained from CHCl 3 or CH 2Cl 2 solution under certain condition. The pore size and the patterns can be regulated by the influencing factors. On the other hand, the honeycomb patterns cannot be formed using tetrahydrofuran as solvent. The polycarbonate films with ordered structures have many potential applications in electronics, optics etc.
