Abstract

The fabrication of tunnel junctions with a high-Tc oxide ceramic superconductor as a base electrode and a Nb film counterelectrode is discussed. From the (dV/dI)- V characteristics, superconductive gap voltages have been detected for La-Sr-Cu-O and Y-Ba-Cu-O compounds. The 2Δ/kBTc values were 5.18 and 9.9 for the two respective compounds. One of the junctions exhibited superconductive bridge characteristics below the Nb gap voltage. The Josephson current of this junction was reproducibly modulated by an external magnetic field similar to the Fraunhofer diffraction pattern.
