Abstract

In the present work, Cu3Mo2O9@MWCNT was synthesised by a simple co-precipitation method followed by ultrasonication. The synthesised nanocomposite was analysed by spectral and analytical characterization techniques, such as FT-IR, XRD, PL, FESEM, XPS, HRTEM, BET and LCMS. The Cu3Mo2O9@MWCNT nanocomposites achieved photocatalytic degradation efficiency of 96 % for malachite green dye under visible light in 180 min. Furthermore, scavenger tests were carried out to identify the role of reactive species aided in the degradation process. Cu3Mo2O9@MWCNT shows stable photocatalytic performance until the fourth cycle. The constructed nanocomposites exhibited excellent stability and reusability features that were suitable for its practical application.
