Abstract

Abstract The partial hydrogenation of benzene by a Pt nano-cluster/photosensitive polyimide (Pt/PSPI) hybrid membrane was investigated. Monodisperse Pt nano-clusters were obtained by microwave-assisted reduction of H 2 PtCl 6 with ethylene glycol. Transmission electron microscopy showed that the average diameter of the Pt nanoparticles was 3.7 nm. The Pt/PSPI hybrid catalyst gave a high selectivity for cyclohexene of 72.4% in the liquid phase hydrogenation of benzene.
