Abstract
A Ni(NixMg1-x)O nanocomposite catalyst was fabricated by exsolution technique from a (NixMg1-x)O solid solution powder. On reduction, Ni2+ ion close to the surface exsolved as nano particles, which were homogeneously distributed in the matrix powder surface. TEM observation suggested that the exsolution occurred preferentially at the edge surface of the matrix powder. The methane partial oxidation and hydrogen selectivity over the nanocomposite catalysts were evaluated over the temperature range, 300 to 900ºC.
