Abstract

A self-supporting 122Sn target has been fabricated via rolling of an ingot of 99.3% enriched 122Sn at the target laboratory of Inter-University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi. The isotopic purity of the target has been verified. The prepared target has been used in a γ-ray spectroscopy experiment to study the high spin states of Xe and Te nuclei. Relative cross-sections of different evaporation channels have been extracted from experimental data and compared with the same estimated by a Monte-Carlo code, namely, Projection Angular-momentum Coupled Evaporation (PACE4). A disagreement in the experimental cross-section and PACE4 prediction has been reported for the α3n channel.
