Abstract

ABSTRACTWe fabricated micrometer‐order diameter polysiloxane optical fibers by drawing process of partially cured siloxane. Using a few mm long polysiloxane fibers integrated on the polydimethylsiloxane substrate or in telecommunications optical fibers, we studied the influence of looping on the transmission characteristics of a polysiloxane optical fibers. We have demonstrated an optical interferometers built of a coiled self‐touching polysiloxane fibers with a diameter of up to 25 microns. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
