Abstract

This study aims to explore the universe of telenovelas as serialized fiction and the elements that drive and make it unique dramatic texts. The complexity of this authorial work, predominantly generated by the author, gives telenovelas a refinement of language and, consequently, a specific aesthetic effect that turns words into images and a space for discussion on social media. This complex process addresses a variety of trends from different professionals working on the concept of the audiovisual chapter. As corpus, we will analyze the telenovela “Vai na fé,” written by Rosane Svartman for TV Globo, and discuss the issue of representation in its plot. To foster discussion, the authors Marlyse Meyer, Fredéric Martel, Maria Immacolata Lopes, among other authors, will be considered.
