Abstract

Extramedullary sarcoma (ES) or granulocytic sarcoma is composed of immature myeloid cells and represents an extramedullary manifestation of acute myeloid leukemia. It can occur in isolation, however, is commonly associated with French-American-British acute myeloid leukemia M2 subtype. ES can be seen at various sites in the body; however, involvement of the central nervous system is extremely uncommon. We hereby, report an extremely rare case of a 6-year old boy with ES, whose initial presentation was akin to a primary brain tumor.
