Abstract

The extraction of Zn(II) thiocyanate complexes by various high molecular weight amines and quaternary ammonium salts has been studied. The extraction efficiency of various amines and the dependence of extraction on thiocyanate concentration, pH of the aqueous phase and on metal and amine concentration have been investigated. An attempt has also been made to identify the extracted species by extraction isotherms and log-log plots of amine concentration vs distribution ratio.
