Abstract

In this paper, a design of CROSS-shaped frequency selective surface (FSS) structure is proposed which can be used as absorbers, reflector and waveguide filters. The CROSS-shaped structure is placed inside rectangular split ring resonator (RSRR). The conducting strips of structure behaves as inductor and gap as conductor. The transmission and reflection coefficients of structure shows pass band and stop band in multiband frequency range of operation. The effective permittivity and permeability of the structure shows negative properties which means that it can be used as metamaterial. The CROSS-shaped FSS structure is simulated in frequency domain solver using CST Microwave studio. Perfect electric and perfect magnetic (PE-PM) boundary conditions are applied to the design structure and wave ports are used for excitation. The proposed structures shows pass band and stop band in S, C and Ku band frequency range of operations.
