Abstract
The coupling of a TE-polarized weak waveguide mode with a TM-polarized one by means of two strong orthogonally polarized bulk waves falling from outside on a nonlinear thin film is discussed. In dependence on the parameters of the external bulk waves (intensities, phase difference, incident angles) the state of polarization of the guided fields can be externally controlled.
