Abstract

Ing. arch. F. Jech, now retired but formerly employed in the office of the chief architect in Prague, Czechoslovakia, has made a study of the development of external wall structures in relation to the costs of central heating in residential buildings. Although this research is based on the climatic conditions of his country, it contains information of general interest and suggests the need for new types of wall panels with high thermal resistance. The article considers also the problems associated with window components.
