Abstract

Objective To observe the expression of RhoC protein in the multiple myeloma(MM) organization and its relationship with angiogenesis. Methods Using the immunohistochemical streptavid-in-peroxidase(SP) methods to detect the expression of RhoC protein in 32 cases of multiple myeloma tissues and 8 cases of nutritional anemia tissues.Marked vascular endothelial cells in myeloma stroma by CD31, and calculated the microvascular density(MVD), so that to investigate the relationship between the expression of RhoC and angiogenesis of multiple myeloma. Results Compared with the control group, RhoC was overexpressed in the tissues of multiple myeloma group(P<0.05), RhoC was also expressed in vascular endothelial cells in MM, and MVD was also significantly higher in the positive cases(P<0.05). Conclusions RhoC is overexpressed in multiple myeloma cells, and is also expressed in vascular endothelial cells in MM, the expression of RhoC is closely related to the angiogenesis of multiple myeloma.
