Abstract
To investigate the role of eIF3A and eIF4E in ovarian cancer and their relationship with prognosis. The differential expression of eIF3A and eIF4 genes in ovarian cancer tissues and cells was analyzed by Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). The target genes of eIF3A and eIF4 were searched by Cytoscape in STRING database. The relationship between eIF3A and eIF4E and prognosis was analyzed by TCGA database. The expression of eIF3A and eIF4E in ovarian cancer was verified by immunohistochemistry. The expressions of eIF3A and eIF4E were detected in ovarian cancer tissues, and compared with normal tissues, the expressions of eIF3A and eIF4E were higher in OC tissues, and the difference was statistically significant compared with the para-cancer group (P<0.05). Immunohistochemical results of clinical samples further verified this conclusion. TCGA database analysis showed that the expression of eIF3A and eIF4E was related to the median survival time of patients, and ENO was found to be the downstream target gene of eIF4.The expressions of eIF3a and eIF4E are closely related to the occurrence, development and poor prognosis of ovarian cancer, and they are expected to become unique molecular markers for clinical diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of ovarian cancer.
