Abstract

Objective To analyze the clinical significance of proline-rich protein 11 (PRR11), X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein (XIAP) in osteosarcoma tissue and osteochondroma tissue. Methods 18 cases of osteochondroma tissues and 61 cases of osteosarcoma tissues of patients pathologically confirmed From march 2003 to june 2019 on Affiliated hospital of guangdong medical university were collected, The expression of PRR11 and XIAP proteins in osteochondroma tissues and osteosarcoma tissues were detected by using immunohistochemical method. Results The expression rate of PRR11 in Osteosarcoma tissues was higher than that of Osteochondroma tissues (72.13% vs. 11.11%, χ2=21.277, P<0.01), the expressions of PRR11 were related to Eneeking stage, lung metastasis and soft tissue involvement of Osteosarcoma (χ2=6.324, 6.752, 6.416, P<0.05); the expression rate of XIAP in Osteosarcoma tissues was higher than that of Osteochondroma tissues (65.57% vs. 5.56%, χ2=20.055, P<0.01), the expressions of XIAP were related to Eneeking stage and lung metastasis of Osteosarcoma (χ2=6.149, 7.478, P<0.05). Conclusion PRR11 and XIAP were highly expression in Osteosarcoma, These data indicate that PRR11 and XIAP can be used as an important biomarker to estimate the progression of Osteosarcoma. Key words: Proline-rich protein 11; X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein; Osteosarcoma; Osteochondroma; Immunohistochemical method
