Abstract

Alpha particle detectors of the type Kodak LR115-II and Pershore CR39 have been exposed to helium ions of energies in the interval 5.5 to 1.3 MeV and of angle of incidence between 0 and 85 degrees. The helium ions were obtained from the 3UDH Pelletron tandem accelerator in Lund. Results of the angular and energy response of the detectors are presented and the consequences for radon detection are discussed.
