Abstract

Given dynamical system equations, conditions for robust asymptotic stability can be explicitly found in terms of global bounds on nonlinear variation terms around fixed desired behavior. But decay is not always of exponential type, and may be slower. To restore exponential decay, adaptive method is used to define explicitly an associated system for determination online of the value of coefficients in front of global bounds. Application to Lagrangian systems is given as an example.
